As a family-owned business, every decision I make is centered around family—both yours and mine. While I am committed to serving my clients with the very best care and attention during business hours, I also believe it’s important to live the values I hold close. For me, that means being present for my family at home. When I first started my photography career, I worked around the clock. Early mornings, late nights, weekends—you name it, I was there. Everything was a “yes”, and an “I’ll be there”. I poured myself into my business and created something far past what I had dreamed of (and so beyond grateful for)…But realized that the main reason I started this career (to be able to be more present with my kiddos), was the area I too quickly felt like I was failing at.
These past two years I have changed my working hours to Monday through Friday, and it has worked out great! I know these hours may not be perfect for everyone, and I understand that it might make scheduling a little more difficult for some families. But I also know that by setting these boundaries, I’m able to live out the reason I started this journey in the first place—to put family first. My hours are 9am-3pm. I realize these might not work for everyone. And I’ve come to terms that that is OK.
There are just a few exceptions—each year I schedule a few Saturday and Sunday seasonal sessions, as well as some Mon. – Friday evening sessions for maternity.
I’m so grateful for the families who continue to support me, not just as a photographer, but as a mom and as someone who is striving to live out her priorities. At the end of the day, my heart is to give you my best while also giving my best to my family—and that balance is what makes this work so meaningful.
Love,
