1. Keep Baby Awake Before the Session A little awake time beforehand can make a huge difference. A bath, talking to them, gentle play, or keeping them stimulated for 60–90 minutes before leaving the house helps ensure baby is ready for a deep sleep once you arrive. ⸻

2. Give a Full Feeding Right Before the Session A newborn with a full tummy is much more likely to settle quickly. Whether you feed at home right before you leave or wait to feed upon arrival, a content baby stays calm, cozy, and sleepy — perfect for those curled-up poses. ⸻

3. Dress Baby in Something Easy to Remove Skip the tight outfits, multiple buttons, or anything that has to be pulled over the head. A zip-up sleeper or a loose-fitted onesie makes it simple to transition into swaddles and setups without waking them. ⸻

4. Keep Baby Warm Newborns LOVE warmth. Turn up the heat in the car on the way, keep blankets close, and avoid exposing skin to cold air. Warmth keeps babies settled, sleepy, and comfortable during posing. ⸻

5. Bring a Pacifier — Even if Baby Doesn’t Use One You might not use a pacifier at home, and that’s totally okay. But during a newborn session, a pacifier can help soothe baby between transitions, allowing us to keep the session flowing smoothly with minimal disruption. ⸻ Ready for a stress-free newborn session?
